What is a Farm Share?

The Farm Share we are offering is inspired by the concept of Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) which has been around for a long time! A black farmer from Alabama, Booker T. Whately, an agricultural professor and pioneer in sustainable farming, developed the idea in the late 1940s. Community members buy food subscriptions at the beginning of the season and this allows farmers to confidently invest in their farms and have consistent customers. Our Community Farm Share Event grows out of this tradition. Your food share bag will include in-season veggies and fruits from local farms. This may include greens, radishes, bok choy, lettuce, homemade bread and more!
